Login- Possible Errors
If you receive any of the following error messages, please review the response required to troubleshoot the problem.

Errors Response required

Please enter your login credentials to begin voting. The voter is required to enter login credentials before viewing the ballot and casting their vote.

The login credentials you supplied do not match our records. Please try again. The login entry entered by the voter didn't match the credentials in the eligible voter list for ballot(s) in an election currently running in your eBallot system.

Password is a required field. The voter cannot leave the Password field empty and proceed.

Username is a required field. The voter cannot leave the Username field empty and proceed.

Your Login is invalid. Either username or password entered was invalid.

Primary Color cannot be greater than 50 characters. The primary color field cannot exceed 50 characters.

User Identification Text cannot be greater than 50 characters. The user identification text field cannot exceed 50 characters.

Password Text cannot be greater than 50 characters. The password text field cannot exceed 50 characters.

If you receive the following errors, be sure to review the response required to troubleshoot the problem.

Pop-up blocked. To see this pop-up or additional options click here. Click on the text in the browser window to temporarily allow pop-ups to display the choice details window. To change you pop up settings view the pop-up window disable cheat-sheet at the end of this manual.

Image Name cannot be greater than 50 characters. The name of the image being uploaded for a choice detail (biography) cannot exceed 50 characters.

The URL submitted cannot be greater than 250 characters. URL entered in the choice detail (biography) cannot exceed 250 characters.

Biography Type cannot be greater than 10 characters. Biography Type entered cannot exceed 10 characters.

Ballot Settings- Possible Errors
If you receive the following errors, be sure to review the response required to troubleshoot the problem.

Errors Response required

The URL submitted cannot exceed 200 characters. The URL field cannot exceed 200 characters.

Please enter a valid URL in field for "Web site where users are sent after signing out." (ex. http://www.votenet.com) The website where voters will be directed after they signout from the ballot. Must start with http://

The number entered for "Questions per ballot" is too large. Please re-enter a value. The number entered for "Questions per ballot" is too large. Please re-enter a value.

Questions per ballot has to be a numeric value. Please enter the number of questions you want to have for your ballot in numerical format.

The date you entered for when voting begins is not a valid date. Make sure you did not enter a 31 for a month with only 30 days. There is an error in the date that was entered for when the voting begins.

The date you entered for when voting closes is not valid. The date entered must be after the time of the starting date and has to be either the present day or in the future. There is an error in the date that was entered for when the voting closes.

Ballot Questions- Possible Errors
If you receive any of the following error messages, re-check your entries to be sure they meet the responses required listed below.

Errors Response required

The URL submitted cannot exceed 200 characters. The URL field cannot exceed 200 characters.

Please enter a valid URL in field for "Web site where users are sent after signing out." (ex. http://www.votenet.com) The website where voters will be directed after they signout from the ballot. Must start with http://

Ballot Question Name cannot be greater than 1000 characters. Ballot question name entered is too long. It can have a maximum of 1000 characters. If you are entering a block of text (for a by-law, referendum, etc.) make sure it does not exceed 1000 characters (approx 100 to 150 words).

Ballot Question Name is a required field. The ballot question name field has been left blank. An entry is required.

Question Note: Text cannot be greater than 100 characters. Ballot question entered is too long. It can have a maximum of 100 characters.

Position instructions cannot be greater than 200 characters. Position/question instructions entered cannot exceed 200 characters.

Number of choices entry must be a numeric value. The entry for number of choices a voter can make in the ballot must be in numerical format.

Number of choices must be a valid number. Enter numbers for this questions ( example: 1, 5, 14, etc, …).

You must provide an answer for the following question: Is response required for this question? Please selection "Yes" or "No" for this question.

Voter's choice is a required field. Please selection "Yes" or "No" for this question.

Please enter a numeric value for the number of choices you wish to add for this question. The number of choices for a question in the ballot is required. It cannot be left blank.

The standard limit for the number of choices per question is 50. If you need to add more than 50 choices for this question, please call your Votenet Sales Representative. If number of questions required per ballot is more than 50, please contact Votenet Sales representative. Default limit set is 50.

Please enter a numeric value for the number of write-ins you wish to add for this question. The number of choices for a write-in question in the ballot is required. It cannot be left blank.

Voter Management- Possible Errors
The following error messages may appear when adding a new voter. If you receive any of these errors, double-check that you have filled in at least the username and password fields, and that the information you have entered fits the parameters described in the error message. Review the responses required below to trouble-shoot the problem.

First name cannot be greater than 50 characters. The first name field cannot exceed 50 characters.

Last name cannot be greater than 50 characters. The last name field cannot exceed 50 characters.

Password cannot be greater than 50 characters. The password field cannot be greater than 50 characters.

Email Address cannot be greater than 50 characters. The email address field cannot exceed 50 characters.

Email Address is invalid. The email address entered is invalid. (All email addresses must have an '@' symbol and at least one '.' following the '@' symbol.
